Looking to adopt a pair of gerbils?
At Lil' Whiskers we have a few choices for you! Of course you can choose to adopt some pups from our breeding program, but you might also want to take a look at our rescue gerbils from our sister site- Little Whiskers, or, on occasion we may have other gerbils that are looking for a new home. If you are unsure what you are looking for, we can help you choose the type of adoption that would fit you best.
If you choose to adopt from our breeding program-
There may be times when I don't have any pups available. I like to keep small groups so I can spend extra time hand taming babies and providing extra care.
I prefer to adopt out pairs since gerbils are very social animals and are best kept together. I will adopt out single animals if there are extenuating circumstances.
Gerbils are $15 per pair
My main interest is what is best for the animals.
If you choose to adopt from the Little Whiskers Rescue program-
We take in gerbils that people need to find new homes for. Every gerbil that comes to us is put through a strict quarantine period while we check for illness and temperament. Some gerbils come to us pregnant or with young litters. We raise these babies here and then we put them up for adoption when they are ready. Any gerbil we don't feel is fit for adoption stays here with us at the rescue where we can give it the extra care it needs.
Rescue gerbils have an adoption fee of $5 per gerbil but discounts will be given on a case by case basis for people willing to take larger groups, or other special circumstances.
If you choose to adopt another gerbil that is currently available-
These gerbils could be up for adoption for many different reasons. Each gerbil or group of gerbils in this section carry their own adoption fee that will vary from situation to situation.
