 Ahhh, the importance of a lid. If you don't have a lid for your gerbil cage you will realize very soon why you need one, of course then it will be too late. Gerbils can JUMP! And they can jump HIGH! A gerbil could very easily jump out of an aquarium and they WILL if given the chance. Lids for aquariums can usually be purchased in the reptile section of most pet stores. Some lids come with clips or locks, if not, I highly recommend purchasing some. This is an extra safeguard that your gerbil won't be able to work its way out. Better safe than sorry!
